Bouquet price calculator: cost, margin and VAT in one minute
A bouquet's cost sheet is the sum almost nobody does: what the stems, the wrap and the minutes of work cost, what markup goes on top and how much VAT it carries. This calculator does it in a minute, free and without signing up. Swap the stems and costs for your own.
Bouquet cost sheet
Add the stems with their purchase cost per unit (what the wholesaler charges you, before VAT). The reference costs are indicative: put in your own.
| Flower or foliage | Stems | €/stem | Cost |
|---|
Markup on cost = (price before VAT − cost) ÷ cost. A ×2.5 multiplier is a 150 % markup. VAT is not yours: you collect it and pay it on.
What a bouquet cost sheet is
It is the real cost of a bouquet, added stem by stem: the purchase price of every flower and every piece of foliage (before VAT), the wrap, ribbon and water, and the labour (the minutes it takes to build, at what an hour of work costs). The markup goes on that cost, and VAT on the resulting price. Shops that price by eye tend to find their best seller barely pays for itself.
How to use it
- Add each flower or foliage with the number of stems and the price per stem the wholesaler charges you.
- Put in the cost of the wrap and the minutes of work, with what your hour is worth.
- Choose the markup on cost. A ×2.5 multiplier (usual for fresh flowers) is a 150 % markup.
- Choose the VAT: 10 % for flowers and plants in Spain, 21 % for dried or artificial flowers.
- Read the retail price, rounded if you like, and what you keep per bouquet.
Who it is for
The shop that prices by eye and wants to check a bouquet or two; the one that wants to know what happens to the margin when the wholesaler puts ten cents on a rose; and anyone preparing a new price list who needs a rule.
From a loose cost sheet to your real prices
Inside Priroda this sum does itself, with your numbers: every stem came into stock with the delivery note's price, the bouquet is built from the stems there are and cost, margin and price update as you build. When the wholesaler raises the price, the next bouquet already knows. It is told in Bouquet costing for florists.
Frequently asked questions
What VAT does a bouquet carry?
Flowers and live ornamental plants go at the reduced 10 % rate in Spain; dried or artificial flowers at 21 %. Add-ons such as the vase or the card carry 21 %. More in VAT on flowers in Spain: 10 % or 21 %.
What markup is normal?
For fresh flowers it is usual to multiply the flower cost by 2.5 or 3 (a 150 % to 200 % markup) to cover waste, premises and time. What matters is not the number but calculating it on the real cost, with labour inside.
Does it keep my data?
No. The calculator runs in your browser and sends nothing. Reloading the page returns it to the example values.
Can I save the cost sheet as a recipe?
Not in the calculator. Inside Priroda, the bouquet is saved with its composition, its cost and its price, and designs that repeat are saved as templates.
