# Closing the till and writing off wilted stock

> At the end of the day Priroda shows a florist how much came in by cash and card, the change given, whether the till balances, which orders are unpaid, and lets them write off wilted stems so the loss is visible.

At closing time Priroda, the flower-shop management software from priroda.tech, shows the day on one screen: how much came in and by which method, the cash received and the change given, whether the till balances, and which orders are still unpaid. Wilted stems are written off with a reason, so the stock count stays true and the loss shows in the reports instead of disappearing.

## What makes closing hard

- Cash and card were never separated during the day, and the count takes half an hour.
- Stems that went to the bin are still in the stock count, so tomorrow's order to the supplier is wrong.
- Unpaid orders are remembered, or not.

## How it works in Priroda

1. Open **Reports → Daily cash**. The report lists the day's orders and totals them by **payment method**: cash, card, transfer, Bizum, Stripe.
2. For cash, it shows **cash received and change given** per order, the expected cash in the drawer, and the **difference** against what was counted.
3. The **unpaid** and partially paid orders of the period are listed so they can be chased tomorrow.
4. **Write off** the stems that wilted or broke: choose the item, the quantity and the reason. Stock decreases and the write-off report shows the loss by period, so the shop learns what it over-buys.
5. The **stock movement** view shows every entry and exit of a stem with date, time and who did it, for any period.

## What gets recorded

Totals by payment method, cash and change per order, the closing difference, write-offs with reason and person, and the resulting stock balance.

## Where it lives

- Web: **Reports → Daily cash**, **Reports → Write-offs**, **Reports → Inventory movement**, **Balance → Update stock**.
- iPad app: **More → Daily cash report**.
- Assistant: "how much cash should be in the till", "write off 10 wilted white roses", "which orders from this week are unpaid".

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I close the till per shop location?
Yes. Reports follow the location picker, so each shop closes its own day.

### Does a write-off affect the cost reports?
Yes. Write-offs carry the cost of the stems, so the purchases and expenses report and the margin reflect the real loss.

### What if a correction is needed after closing?
Stock can be corrected with a manual balance update, which is recorded with who did it and why.
